Last week, I decided to surprise my family with a movie night at home. I didn’t want to spend hundreds on a fancy projector, so I gave the TMY Mini Projector a try — and honestly, I’m glad I did.
First impressions? It’s super compact and lightweight. It even comes with a foldable screen, which saved me the trouble of figuring out where to project. Setting it up was really simple. I plugged in my laptop using the included HDMI cable, and everything worked smoothly from the start.
The image quality surprised me — it supports 1080p and looks great in a dark room. We watched a full movie and had no issues with brightness or focus. The built-in speaker is decent, but I paired my Bluetooth speaker to it in seconds and got a much better audio experience.
One thing to keep in mind: it works best in low light, and if you’re planning to stream from apps like Prime Video, you’ll need a Fire Stick or similar device due to content protection rules.
All in all, this projector turned our living room into a mini theater — without breaking the bank. I’d say it’s perfect for casual movie nights, kids’ cartoons, or even backyard setups.
